Sotheby's Carpets catalogs its October 1, 2002, sale of 248 carpets which brought $1.3 million. The highlights of the auction include a Yankard carpet, East Turkestan, circa 1800 (lot 270), a West Anatolian coupled column prayer rug, probably Oushak, late 17th century (332), and a Tabriz carpet, Northwest Persia, circa 1890 (466). The carpets are all beautifully photographed in color.
