Every year, Monsen and Baer publishes a beautiful hard cover auction catalog for their famous annual auction of perfumes. In each catalog, a lengthy article regarding a designer or other theme is presented. These have helped make the Monsen and Baer catalogs valuable references not solely because they present beautiful color pictures and auction values for a broad range perfumes, but they also present well researched information that likely cannot be found elsewhere.

The May 2000 catalog, A Century of Perfume consisted of 450 lots, each pictured in color. Sale prices reached as high as $5,500 (for a Coty L Or clear crystal bottle and stopper). This is appropriate as the feature articles was on the perfumes of Francois Coty who once said a perfume should please the eye, before it pleases the nose.. The 24 page articles is extremely well illustrated with numerous photos of perfumes typically with their box, advertising, and miscellaneous. A bibliography and a working compendium will be of particular value to the Coty collector.
